Polokwane based radio station, Thobela FM saddened by the death of ‘JJ Menu’

Polokwane based radio station, Thobela FM, has learnt with sadness about the passing of its presenter Johanna Sebolaishi Seloga, popularly known as ‘JJ Menu’ who passed away on October 23.

According to the statement released by the SABC on October 24, ‘JJ Menu’ joined Thobela FM in 2007 and presented many shows including ‘Thoba Matswalo’, and ‘Re mmogo’. 

The 39-year-old was very popular for presenting the Sunday show ‘Lesang bana’ and was also producing the programme ‘Moremogolo’.

“Her presence on-air and at the station will be sorely missed,” reads the statement.

Limpopo Combo Business Manager Madikana Matjila expressed his words of condolences.

“We all are hurt by JJ’s passing and wish to send our heartfelt condolences to the family and all our listeners.”

Matjila added: “We hurt also that millions of children and families have lost a servant, as JJ delivered with passion our children’s religions programming, as well as our all-time favourite ‘Moremogolo’ where she served as a producer.”

“We wish to lastly thank all our listeners for sending us their messages of support in this difficult time.”

Fans and supporters expressed messages of condolences to the family of the radio personality, through social media platforms.

Top achiever, Jonas  Kgakishi Moshabi of Seritarita High School in Mapela village, Mokopane, Limpopo said it has always been his dream to grace the national stage. On January 18, Minister of Basic Education Angie Motshekga recognized him as one of the top-performing matriculants, making that a reality. He bagged seven distinctions, including a 100% for both Mathematics and Geography. The 18-year-old Armoed-born, from Mokopane, said that when he received an email from the Department of Education, he was in disbelief.
