Limpopo cops honoured for their hard work with medals

Hard work and dedication has paid off for senior members of the South African Police Service, in Limpopo province as they were awarded with medals for their outstanding service.

It was during a medal parade led by the MEC for Transport and Community Safety, Florence Radzilana, joined by Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, Limpopo provincial commissioner of police, on October 6.

The prestigious medal ceremony to honour faithful men and women in blue was held at the University of Limpopo Stadium.

SAPS members who have demonstrated their unwavering commitment and loyalty in the line of duty for 10, 20, 30, and 40 years’ loyalty service were awarded medals.

The loyalty service medals symbolise a different milestone in their career and their outstanding service to serve the community.

Lieutenant General Hadebe, when addressing the crowd said: “This is a proud moment for the medal recipients and their families, as the SAPS organisation acknowledges their sacrifices throughout the years and for being faithful and loyal public servants.”

Hadebe quoted Wade Boggs as she praised the members of the SAPS for their dedication: “A positive attitude causes a chain reaction of positive thoughts, events and outcomes. It is a catalyst and it sparks extraordinary results,” she quoted.

MEC for Transport and Community Safety, Limpopo provincial commissioner of police and the deputy provincial commissioner of corporate services, Major Gent Christine Morakaladi bestowed the medals to the hard working officers.

During her address, the MEC applauded the medal recipients. 

“Your loyalty will serve as a motivation to the new recruits that faithfulness and commitment pay dividends,” she said.
