Munghana Lonene FM current affairs presenter Mikiel Mabasa has died in a horrific accident.
Mabasa was the presenter and producer of the current affairs show called Tiko Axi Etleli, which airs Monday to Friday, on the station.
The horrific incident occurred on October 28.
Police confirmed that two vehicles collided on Levubu road near Harnish farm.
The Police at Levubu in Vhembe District said that they are investigating a case of culpable homicide following a collision involving the two vehicles.
Limpopo police spokesperson Brigadier Hlulani Mashaba said: “According to the information at this stage, the driver of the VW polo lost control of the vehicle causing him to collide with a VW Amorok bakkie.”

Mashaba said both male drivers were travelling alone and sustained multiple injuries.
“The driver of the bakkie identified as Mr Sauer L from Makhado was transported to the hospital where he was declared dead on arrival. Meanwhile, the driver of the sedan identified as Mr Mabasa who was working as a presenter at Munghana Lonene SABC Radio, was declared dead on the scene,” Mashaba added.
Mashaba said a case of culpable homicide was opened and investigations are underway to determine the exact cause of the accident.
Meanwhile, the Limpopo based radio station confirmed the passing of the radio host, in a post on its Facebook page.
“#RIPMikielMabasa eka Muhaxi/Muhumelerisi wa Tiko Axi Etleli๐๐๐ #MakombaNdlela,” reads the caption of the post.
Fans and supporters of the late current affairs host flocked to the comments section to express their condolences.
Facebook user Onassis Mathebula said: “May his soul rest in peace.”
“ RIP our brother ๐ฅ,” Singie Arethe said.
Nomvula Manzini commented: “ Sad news indeed ๐️๐️๐️.”
“ May his soul RIP ๐ข๐ข๐ข๐ข,” said Loyiso Shria Nyathi.
