Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation Dr. Blade Nzimande has been awarded an honorary professorship.
Nzimande was bestowed an honorary professorship in China by Beijing Jiaotong University in China, on November 05.
The professorship is in recognition of his contributions to education and is a symbol of strengthening ties between the country and China.

The Minister shared the good news of his honorary professorship on his social media pages.
He captioned his posts: “ I am truly honoured to become a part of the Beijing Jiaotong University community. I pledge my very best efforts to support the University’s future progress, following in the footsteps of pioneers such as LIU Han, founder of China’s first radio station, YING Shangcai, inventor of China’s first high-power steam engine, and ZHENG Zhenduo, a famous writer, literary critic, and historian, to name but a few of the famous former Jiaotong students.”
