Former Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane joins EFF

Advocate Busisiwe Mkhwebane, a former Public Protector is the new member of the red berets.

Mkhwebane announced that she’s joining the Economic Freedom Fighters on October 16, at Kwaggafontein, Mpumalanga during a media briefing.

She was axed from office last month by President Cyril Ramaphosa after a parliamentary inquiry found her guilty of misconduct and incompetence. 

Mkhwebane vowed to abide by the objectives of the EFF.

“I am fighter Busisiwe Mkhwebane, I will abide by the aims, objectives, and radical policies of the Economic Freedom Fighters as set out in the constitution of the EFF.”

“I voluntarily joined the EFF without any motive of personal or material benefit. I understand that I am not entitled to any position or deployment,” she said.

“I will participate in the life of the EFF to strive towards total emancipation of South Africa. I will do so as a loyal, active, and disciplined freedom fighter.”

 The EFF has welcomed the former public protector as the new member of the party citing that her removal from office was an act of hatred.

“It is on this basis that the EFF continues to celebrate Advocate Mkhwebane as one of the most successful Public Protectors of our democracy, and view her abrupt removal as an act of hatred of a black woman by a racist organisation, in collaboration with a ruling party whose President Mkhwebane dared to challenge for his criminality,” reads the statement.

Additionally, “The EFF commends Advocate Mkhwebane for joining the EFF as a sign of her continued opposition to corruption, state capture and the erosion of our Constitution and democracy. Through her decision, she has shown that she is committed to the future of this country, which undoubtedly lies in the EFF.”

Top achiever, Jonas  Kgakishi Moshabi of Seritarita High School in Mapela village, Mokopane, Limpopo said it has always been his dream to grace the national stage. On January 18, Minister of Basic Education Angie Motshekga recognized him as one of the top-performing matriculants, making that a reality. He bagged seven distinctions, including a 100% for both Mathematics and Geography.
