Haike, it’s bad: Heavy storm hits Laudium, Pretoria and leaves’ cars damaged!

Heavy storm and winds that have hit in Laudium, Pretoria has caused more damage than expected.

Some parts of Pretoria are experiencing the storm and heavy winds, which have resulted in damaging cars and roofs blown off.

Journalist Yusuf Abramjee shared pictures on X of the cars damaged by the storm that have hit the area.

 Meanwhile, ealier today the South Africa Weather Services (SAWS) warned that the storm will hit the eastern parts of the country.

“A lot of storms around GP this evening (19 Sept 2023). These storms are producing strong winds but not a lot of rain,” read the forecast posted by the SAWS on X.


Some trees were pulled out from the ground by the storm.

The heavy storm and winds have left many people in the dark.

“Our power went went off and it’s not even loadshedding, it’s bad this side,” @Collen_KM commented on the post of Yusuf Abramjee on X.

Meanwhile, South Africans rushed to social media platforms to share the pictures and videos of the damages caused by the heavy storm and winds that have hit many parts of the country.

@Kay_bee_baby shared a video on X and captioned it, “My poor neighbours.”

On the video he shared a shack damaged by the heavy winds can be seen on the ground.
