Teacher lauds constant prayer, dedication and hard work for achieving excellent matric results!

Walking up early in morning preparing for lessons has paid off for this committed educator, who got incredible outcomes for the 2023 matric class. 

Klaas Tebogo Makondo, a Physical Sciences educator at George Langa High School in Bakernburg, Mokopane, in Limpopo province, is beaming with pride after achieving great results.

This comes after Minister of Basic Education Angie Motsekga announced yesterday on January 18, that the pass rate for the matric class of 2023 is 82,3%.

Makondo got an outstanding 83.3% pass rate in Physical Sciences, which he defined as hard work and dedication to his job. 

"I am over the moon because it was not easy at all, but through diligence, commitment, and my passion for this profession, I have achieved great results," the 29-year-old teacher said, beaming with joy. 

He pointed out that what kept him going was a steady prayer he made every morning before heading to school.

"I would wake up in the early hours of the morning to seek wisdom and guidance from the Almighty before I can head to school and educate my learners," he said. 

Makondo, who hails from the Kabeane village, stated that though he was anticipating to obtain a 100% pass rate, he was surprised by the excellent results he achieved. 

He went on to say: "We had to work hard day and night, and even on weekends."

"The extra classes that we used to have throughout the year initiated by teachers, school, circuit and district have aided with preparing learners for the final examinations." 

The proud teacher expressed his profound appreciation to his colleagues and the school's principal for supporting him in achieving the most outstanding possible outcomes. 

He praised the learners for their diligence and dedication and wished them well in their future endeavours.
