World Teacher’s Day: Nkholo Matsho a young multitalented teacher prides himself for being a phenomenal educator

October 05, is regarded as the World Teacher’s Day to honour the significance of teachers in the society. On the day, teachers are celebrated for the contribution they make in building the society.
Today we celebrate one of the greatest teachers.
For this exceptional teacher, teaching is not just a job, but it is a calling that he wants to see himself carrying out wherever he goes.
Nkholo Matsho is a young dedicated teacher who chose the teaching profession owing to his passion to transform people’s lives.
Born and bred in Mabuladitlhare village in Bakernberg, the ambitious teacher said that he never thought of himself holding a chalk inside the classroom and teaching learners.

“I had wished to become a chemical engineer, but as time progressed I developed love for the teaching profession,” the 25-year-old teacher said.
At the age of 13, he then decided that he would further his studies to be an educator.
He mentioned that growing up he was surrounded by people who were teachers.
“Somehow they fuelled my love for this noble profession.”
This is where he developed an immense love for teaching and he never looked back as he furthered his studies at the NorthWest University, where he obtained a Bachelor of Education Degree.

Nkholo said that he chose teaching because of his eagerness to change people’s lives.
“I have a burning desire to transform our society into a better one and I believe education can help me fulfill that, he said with a grin on his face.
He majored with languages and he explained: “I chose languages because we have a serious challenge of reading and writing…Language defines us as a society.”
However, “LOL, I am not just a language teacher, but I can teach Life Sciences and Life Orientation as well. ”
Nkholo, who is a language teacher and head of languages at Nkube Secondary School at Leyden village said he feels very ecstatic to manage most of his colleagues - as the head of curriculum.
“All of the teachers are older than I and that makes me very proud as I ensure that curriculum coverage and contact time are honored, and I also ensure that language gains respect,” said the dedicated teacher.

As today marks World Teachers Day, the passionate and courageous teacher said the day for him means celebrating teachers’ hard work.
“It means celebrating every teacher who is making a huge difference in children’s lives,” he added.
He advised young people who desire to be teachers to never doubt their ability to pursue a career in education.
He said: “It’s worth it, but should you be lazy, you won’t enjoy any day,” he giggled.

Nkholo is not only an enthusiastic educator with the potential to change the lives of learners, he is also a master of ceremonies, club deejay, radio presenter, author, herbalist and Tik Toker.
He pointed out that he has penned books, which were published individually and collaboratively.
Currently, he is busy with poetry anthology for Sepedi, kiddies book, Setswana short stories and poetry.
This young man who prides himself with holding the chalk inside the classroom, aspires to be a Minister of Basic Education in the future.
