When asked what prompted him to start the football club he said, “Growing up I was passionate in football, at times I dreamed of being a football player. However, as time went by I lost interest of wanting to play football as people in my community took it as a hobby but not a career.”

This did not at all stop this determined young man from loving football.

“I then told myself that one day I will start my own football club that will develop footballers who want to play football professionally,” said Wilson.

He believes that the Phahama Football Club will keep an eye on young players as they will receive the fundamental training and important skills they need to compete in the professional football industry.

The team will be made up of young players from the ages of 11-16 years.

Wilson made a plea to the parents of the children who would like to take part in the club to put efforts into the project to make it a success.

“Their support throughout this process will be of a great importance.”

The club is in need of financial assistance. “I would like to ask for donations in relation to football training equipments and soccer gear. As we’re short of many things owing to lack of funds,” he continued.

His greatest ambition, besides the lack of funds is to see the club playing in professional football in the next couple of years, and “It’ll also give me such a great joy to see the team producing professional footballers.”
