31 Pharmacy students at Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University hospitalised after experiencing eyesight problems

Photo: Internet  The Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University (SMU) has confirmed supspending activities for third year Bachelor of Pharmacy students, this after  31 pharmacy students have experienced eyesight problems at the university’s laboratory. The university confirmed this in a statement on February 14. “The students are receiving medical attention and treatment at both Tshwane District Hospital (10 students) and Pretoria West Hospital - Folateng (21 students),” reads the statement. “After consultation with the School leadership, Management has closed the laboratory in question with immediate effect, to allow the investigation to determine the cause of the students' medical condition(s) to be concluded without delay.” The statement released by Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University confirming the hospitalisation

The men and women in blue flocked to the SAPS Tshwane Academy to celebrate the day  through physical fitness activities and sporting codes, on February 15. The day was celebrated by focusing on improving and installing the culture of physical fitness and wellness to the police officers. SAPS national spokesperson Brigadier Athlenda Mathe said that the work of police officers demands them remain mentally and physically fit in order to execute their daily duties to combat crime. Florence Masebe is set to replace Harriet Manamela on Skeem Saam

Photo: Instagram / @florencemasebe / @harrietmanamela Veteran actress Florance Masebe is set to play the well-known role of ‘Meikkie Maputla’ on SABC 1’s popular drama Skeem Saam. This was announced in a statement by the public broadcaster  on February 14. “ Due to unforeseen circumstances, the character of ‘Meikie Maputla’ played by Harriet Manamela will be replaced until the end of season 12,” reads the statement. The statement further revealed that Harriet Manamela who has been playing the role of ‘Meikkie Maputla’ since the advent of the drama in 2011 is not in a good health condition. The South African Broadcasting Corporation announced her appointment in a statement on February 14. Tshabalala who’s popularly known as “ Rosana ” by her beloved listeners will be responsible for programming strategy, content development and on-air presentation. “With 29 years of experience in the broadcasting industry, Ms Tshabalala brings a wealth of knowledge in radio programming.
