Vintage Gurus House of Entertainment is a movement from Polokwane Limpopo, that was established in 2017, by 10 friends, who had common interest in vintage clothes. The movement now has 150 members.

The Gurus pride themselves with wearing vintage clothes and listen to old music. They aim to remind the youth about values and standards, using old fashioned clothes, and ancestral old dance moves.

Founder of  the movement, Daniel Motsepe said that the movement is made up of youth, with the aim of keeping young people off  the streets and busy.

On the 16TH    of April, the residents of,  Polokwane and surrounding area received a pleasant surprise at Polokwane Auditorium {Gardens}, as  Vintage Gurus rocked the crowd  with wearing old fashioned clothes  and, old  dance moves.

The Gurus left many people talking, and they received a pleasant reception. The support was incredible as some, of the audience came to the event rocking  vintage clothes. It was a Mega Artists Media Dance Tribe Festival, a dance competition where there were 11 contestants competing. The Gurus came in the 3rd winning R1000 cash, and second runner up trophy.

Jermaina  Mabusela aged 73, said that the event was marvelous, and it reminded her of the good old days. Jermaina said when the Gurus started dancing, she longed for the good times, when she was growing up and  imitating old people dance moves. Zolani Mokgatla member of the movement, was the best dressed in a grey trouser, white t-shirt, black suspender belt, brown tie, black-afro  weave and brown handbag.  Zolani managed to bring  old clothes back to life and make them fashionable.

I strongly believe the movements is doing an amazing job and important thing, to with keeping the youth off the streets. As these days the youth are exposed to taking drugs and alcohol.  Keeping them, busy will help them to stay away from doing things, that are out of line.

“I have always liked vintage clothes and I used to complement the older people who dressed in vintage clothes. I’m deeply in love with it and, i don’t see myself switching to another style”, said Abbey Tleane, member of the movement.

The dance moves and the attires of  the Vintage Gurus caught my attention  and made me fall in love with them. They were full of positive energy  that would make someone to pay attention to them, and they made vintage clothes look  fashionable and unique.

I was stunned by the Gurus when they started  imitating how our parents and grandparents used to dance, their lifestyle, and how they dressed during back in the days of apartheid. It was a great event and great experience. The  Gurus managed to bring to life, and portray exactly what was done by our parents and grandparents back in the days.
